IMPRESSIONS. MAYBE IS CONSIDERED SPOILER. I would have, but others probably wouldn't. :V
Focus Question/Purpose: How in the world did Madoka get so much hype?
Methods: Watch several episodes of Madoka, even though the series hasn't even completed yet.
Results:
Episode 1: Interesting style, but not new. Reminiscent of Hidamari sketch in both the artwork and abstraction. Trapeze also had similar abstraction. Strong zettai ryouiki vibes. Still no strong evidence for being overhyped. :/
Episode 2: The Mami character is pretty cool. Otherwise all characters seem pretty mediocre, plot is suspenseful but not really seemingly original. That stuffed animal is creepy. Still seems overhyped.
Episode 3: More fighting, more of the same. Fight scenes are pretty cool, but that's not really unique either, not to mention art quality dro-- *approaches end* wait. huh. er. um. hmm. umm... hmm. ah-- hmm. Well f**k. :V
